5 International BestPractice5.1 INTRODUCTIONThe objective <strong>of</strong> this chapter is to provide an overview <strong>of</strong> leading practice inSLI services internationally. It focuses on five countries; three <strong>of</strong> these areregarded as the primary focus <strong>of</strong> the international review (Scotl<strong>and</strong>, Denmark <strong>and</strong>New Zeal<strong>and</strong>) <strong>and</strong> two as a secondary focus (Finl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> Engl<strong>and</strong>). The policy <strong>and</strong>practice in each country is outlined under a number <strong>of</strong> different headings.
