1. Maintenance and restoration of plant and animal species and their habitats;<br />

2. Regulating the size of animal populations;<br />

3. Regulating the spread of plant species in cases of invasive growth of their<br />

population size, permeation in the natural ecosystems and resultant changes in<br />

composition thereof;<br />

4. Erosion control activities and reclamation of damaged or degraded terrains in<br />

keeping with the stated need for re-integration of the cultural landscape;<br />

5. Construction of drinking water catchment facilities, water purification plants,<br />

underground communications, buildings and facilities needed for the <strong>Park</strong>’s<br />

management, in keeping with the stated need for re-integration of the cultural<br />

landscape;<br />

6. Grazing in designated areas (Appendix 29);<br />

7. Grazing of animals controlled by an electric fence;<br />

8. Building and maintenance of temporary shelters for stock-breeding at designated<br />

places;<br />

9. Hay-making, by personal means at designated places (Appendix 29);<br />

10. Amateur fishing;<br />

11. Extraction of forest fruits, mushrooms and herbs for personal use throughout the<br />

entire zone, except at designated places and marked accordingly;<br />

12. Extraction of forest fruits, mushrooms and herbs for commercial use;<br />

13. Renewal and maintenance of the all-round protective and recreational functions of<br />

forests affected by natural disasters, calamities and diseases. (Appendix 12).<br />

Norms<br />

1. Amateur fishing on the Iliyna River from Brichebor to the point of confluence of<br />

the Kamenitsa River (Kodjakariytsa);<br />

2. Grazing: The number of heads of livestock allowed to graze in the territory is<br />

determined with the following regulations:<br />

• In the meadows and pastures in the forests<br />

- for cattle: 10 decares per head minimum;<br />

- for sheep: 2 decares per head minimum.<br />

• For pastures in the treeless zone:<br />

- for cattle: 12 decares per head minimum;<br />

- for sheep: 4 decares per head minimum.<br />

3. Temporary shelters for stockbreeding: without foundations, built of all-natural<br />

materials, provided that they blend well with the environment;<br />

4. Timber use:<br />

In forests plantations according to an approved forest inventory (FI 2000);<br />

Gathering of dry or fallen timber.<br />

5. The attendant timber extraction when actions for restoration and maintaining of<br />

the complex protective and recreational forest functions are conducted, according<br />

to Item 13 of the Zone Regimes cannot exceed 15% of the stock;<br />

6. When using timber-according to Item 13 of the Zone Regimes, at least 5% from<br />

the affected timber must stay at the logging site.<br />
