These facts are so plain andobvious, that it has given rise to a. common sayingamong almost all writers, that "the blood of martyrs isthe seed of the church." Yet there is a bright side toher history; for she has come out of all her persecutionsmore purified, more faithful, and with more energy, toprosecute the work her divine Master has left her toperform.
