-TinsLECTURE VI.DANIEL x. 14.Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thypeople in the latter days; for yet the vision is for many days.is the third time the angel Gabriel came to instructDaniel. The iirst time was when Daniel had thevision of the he-goat, Daniel viii. 16. This was 553years before Christ. The second time he came waswhen Daniel waspraying forthe deliverance of his peoplefrom their Babylonish captivity, fifteen years alterthe iirst visit, when he instructed him into the seventyweeks, and crucifixion of the Messiah. Now he hascome in the third year of Cyrus the Persian, in the 534B. C., 21 years after Daniel had his vision of the fourbeasts, nineteen after the he-goat, and four years afterthe seventy weeks' instruction.After informing Daniel his purpose, as in ourtext,and making some prelimin observations conceminghe be-the virion in the remainderliiiythe tenth chapter,gins his teachitggs to Daniel, and through him to us,with the iirst o the llth chapter. lst verse, he tellswho he, the heavenly messenger, is-the same whoconfirmed Daniel in the seventy weeks.
