The destruction of' thewicked, the end of death, sin banished, it will lightenthe world of a load of crime which has made it reel toand fro like a druukard; the intemal fires will havespent their force on all combustible matter, and havegone out; volcanoes will cease; earthquakes, tomadoes,and whirlwinds can no more be experienced or needed,for the cause is gone; the earth or the heavens canno more be shaken, "that those things that cannot beshaken may remain. Wherefore wereceiving a kingdomwhich cannot be moved, let us have grace, wherebywe may serve God acceptably, with reverence andodly fear; for our God is a consumin tire," Hebfxii.57-29.
