Whether we are to understandthis hail figuratively or literally, I am not able to say;but my prevailing opinion is, that we are to understandit literally, for this rea.son-- I have never been able in theword of God to iind any ii umtive explanation, althoughit is used/ in a number of places with 'cular referenceto the last day. Isa. xxviii. 17, "Ju/ggurhlent also will Ilay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet, andthe hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and thewaters shall overflow the hidingsplaces."xxx. 30,"And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to beheard, and shall show theslighting down of his ann,with theindignation of his anger, and with the flame ofl.devouring re, with scattering, and tempest, and hail-4stones." Ezek. xiii. 11, 13, "Say unto them whichiaub it with untempered mo1ar,.that it shall tall ; diem
