This alludes to literal Babylon andthe kings of the earth; that to mysticalBabylon and the power of the pope: efRome._Again; in Revelation xi. 2: "But thecourt which is without the temple leave outand measure it not; for it is given unto theGentiles; and the holy city shall they treadunder foot forty and two months." This isthe same twelve hundred and sixty years, asin the time, times, and an half; and alludesto the time the Gentile kings would scatterThisthe holy people and rule over them.~
