TWELVE HUNDRED AND SIXTY DAYS. 45nasseh made Judah and the inhabitants ofJerusalem to err, and to do worse than theheathen, whom the Lord had destroyed beforethe children of Israel. I answer,-when all these things shall be finished.First, thekings exercised their authority677 years before Christ, and 538 years afterChrist; which 677 added to 538 makes up1215 years only, which did not accomplishthe scattering of the norholy people, thetreading under foot of the court forty-twomonths;or the twelve hundred and sixtyyears ; and this is the reasonwhy John wasnot to measure, because it would not be fulfilleduntil mystical Babylon should wearout the saints, and change times and laws, atime, times, and anhalf; for God hath putit into the hearts of these kings to fulfil hiswill, and to agree and give their kingdom
