Also, Rev.xi. 19,"And there werelightnings, and voices, andthunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail."By reading the connection of these texts, you cannotbut e struck with the agreement of the prophets in theirdescriptions of this last and dreadful judgment of Godupnn the world. All of them evidently tix it on the lustday; all call it apparently a rain of great hail-stones,like those which fell upon Egypt in the days of Moses.Exodus ix. 23-25, " And Moses stretched forth his rodtoward heaven; and the Lord sent thunder and hail, andthe tire ranalong upon the ground; and the Lord minedhail upon the land of E pt. So-there was hail, and'evous, such as therefire mingled with the haiiyyverywas none like it in all the 1ani"°f Egypt since it becamea. nation. And the hail smote throughout all theland ofEgypt, all that was in the field, both man andbeast; an the hail smote eve herb of the field, andbrake every tree ofthe field." r¥'his, it is evident, is thetype of the last part ofthe seventh lague.And liow,myeiriends, will you believe? Six of' theseplagues have en accomplished in as literal a manneras we could expect, after a fair and scriptural explanationof the figures and metaphors used. And again Iask, Do you believe? You think, perhaps, you will waituntilyou see the hail come, and then you will believe.But will you not recollect that our text says, " And theybla5phemed'God because of the plague of the hail"?W' 'you thus tem t God through six successive judgments,'andwait fgr the last before you will believe?What hope or prospect have you that the seventh willdo what the six preceding could not do-that is, make»..
