D Coordinators, Coordinators of Adjustments (to oversee the implementation of disabled students'
adjustments)and Teachability reps. The ongoing work of the Teachability Task group will hopefully have a
knock on effect on the Institution's practice at a corporate level.
In terms of precept 5 I would point to the relevant modules of our PG Cert
, particularly "Engaging with student diversity".
Other CPD events are also relevant as are on-line resources
SRA - Admissions Code of Practice Applicants with declared disabilities.
There is additional information for applicants with disabilities here:
http://www.ed.ac.uk/studying/undergraduate/applications-admissions/applying/disability/.
HSS- Our policy on disability is to follow the university's policy and to guide potential applicants to the
university web pages on disability - the "golden copy" concept.
Please see our web page at:
http://www.hss.ed.ac.uk/Postgraduate/prospective/index.htm which is the page to which we direct all potential
students. This includes guidance on our policy towards disabled students. Disability is not taken into account
when considering whether to offer someone a place in the College, but it will be considered when we are
thinking about reasonable measures to accommodate them.
MVM - Like HSS our policy is to follow the University's policy and guide them to the University web pages
on disability. This information can be found at our webpage at:
http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departments/medicine-vet-medicine/postgraduate/how-to-apply
CSE- I have reviewed the information that we publish on the College admission web pages. The emphasis is
very much on the University's policy that all applicants are treated equally and that we do not take any personal
circumstances into consideration during the application process - i.e. all applications are judged on their
academic merit. The main document can be found at
