(i) In the accreditation year, the Report <strong>of</strong> accrediting body plus the Annual<br />

(QA) Report are submitted.<br />

(ii) In intervening years, an Annual (QA) Report is submitted.<br />

(iii) Arising from consideration <strong>of</strong> the Annual (QA) Report <strong>and</strong> Accreditation<br />

Report, the QAC Sub-committee may recommend to QAC that a Student<br />

Support Service is subject to a Periodic Enhanced Review.<br />

3.3 Periodic Enhanced Review (web link to flowcharts)<br />

This is an assessment process by review panel visit <strong>and</strong> feedback report<br />

based upon a St<strong>and</strong>ard Remit, Service Specific Remit <strong>and</strong> an Analytical<br />

Report submitted by the Student Support Service. This process allows the<br />

Student Support Service to assure itself <strong>of</strong> the quality <strong>of</strong> the student<br />

experience in its service.<br />

3.3.1 Decision rule<br />

When the Student Support Service is a front-facing support service <strong>and</strong> has<br />

a significant direct impact on the student learning experience or has a<br />

significant impact on the ability <strong>of</strong> the student to embrace fully the learning<br />

experience or when it has been considered by the QAC Sub-committee not<br />

to have fully satisfied the st<strong>and</strong>ard generic remit <strong>and</strong> additional Student<br />

Support Service specific themes.<br />

3.3.2 Student Support Services in this category:<br />

• All Student Support Services are potential participants in this type <strong>of</strong><br />

review<br />

• Accommodation Service<br />

• Disability Office<br />

• Information Services with particular emphasis on Library Services,<br />

Computing Services <strong>and</strong> E-learning<br />

• International Office<br />

3.3.3 Reporting procedure<br />

3.3.3.1 Review Panel is established on behalf <strong>of</strong> the QAC Sub-committee<br />

The agenda for the Review Panel Visit is tailored to the Student Support<br />

Service under review.<br />

3.3.3.2 Review Panel membership, roles <strong>and</strong> responsibilities:<br />

• The Convener <strong>of</strong> QAC or their representative<br />

• Academic Staff member<br />

• Academic Services Policy Officer<br />

• External member with expertise in the service under review<br />

• Internal member from another UoE Student Support Service<br />
