(Web link to Recommendations Form) Review cycle (i) Periodic Enhanced Review panel on a five year cycle basis. (ii) In intervening years, an Annual (QA) Report is submitted.
3.4 Thematic Reviews (web link to flowcharts) Student Support Services are reviewed in clusters appropriate to the chosen theme. The review style will necessarily have to be fluid to address a variety of themes and the reporting procedure will not be as prescriptive as other Review categories in order to allow reviewing and reporting in the most appropriate manner. A Thematic Review Remit will be tailored to suit the requirements of the theme on a review by review basis. 3.4.1 Theme identification Themes are identified by QAC mainly through the Enhancement Led Institutional Review, Annual (QA) Reports, Periodic Enhanced Review findings, College Reports and Enhancement Themes. 3.4.2 Student Support Services in this category: • All Student Support Services are potential participants in this type of review. 3.4.3 Reporting procedure, submission to QAC Sub-committee Link to Section 5. 3.4.3.1 Review Panel is established on behalf of the QAC Sub-committee 3.4.3.2 Review Panel membership, roles and responsibilities: • The Convener of QAC or their representative • Academic Staff member • Academic Services Policy Officer • External member with expertise in the service under review • Heads (or their representatives) of Student Support Service selected for the themed review • Student member Comment [v6]: To be drafted 3.4.3.3 Prior Planning • Theme identified • Information/Literature Search • Identify Student Support Services to be included in review • Identify possible deliverables • Designate panel members • Allocate specific meetings, individual and cross Student Support Services. 3.4.4 Student Support Services in this category: • All Student Support Services are potential participants in this type of review 3.4.5 Review cycle A Thematic Review will take place at irregular intervals within the five year reporting cycle.
