The Programme Committee requires all modules to hold an annual meeting <strong>of</strong> all<br />
their teachers in order to provide information about the programme <strong>and</strong> to discuss<br />
feedback received from students <strong>and</strong> relevant educational enhancements. The<br />

Detailed examination <strong>of</strong> the possibility <strong>of</strong> adopting the CEFR (Common European<br />
Framework <strong>of</strong> Reference), a European Union initiative based on the mutual<br />
recognition <strong>of</strong> language qualifications, with the aim <strong>of</strong> facilitating educational <strong>and</strong><br />

The Enquiry <strong>and</strong> Action Learning sequence in several honours courses is a learning<br />
<strong>and</strong> teaching approach which requires students to undertake independent <strong>and</strong><br />
collective research in small groups, identify relevant evidence-based literature,<br />
demonstrate critical <strong>and</strong> reflective abilities, meet with pr<strong>of</strong>essionals in practice <strong>and</strong><br />

The sequence on Skills, Theories <strong>and</strong> Methods promotes the development <strong>of</strong><br />
reflective learning along with pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>and</strong> personal skills via a process <strong>of</strong><br />
supported experiential learning. The sequence involves a specific focus on<br />
communication skills, exploration <strong>of</strong> group process <strong>and</strong> engagement with core<br />
practice approaches. Active learning is promoted via simulated application <strong>of</strong><br />
discipline-specific theory in order to enhance self awareness <strong>and</strong> prepare students<br />

The research culture includes regular evening research seminars which 4 th year<br />

Twitter. Working with the Senior Director <strong>of</strong> Studies, Student Support Officers<br />
provide a tailored training session for academic staff new to the directing role. A<br />
School h<strong>and</strong>book for Directors <strong>of</strong> Studies is a valuable reference guide for academic<br />
