CLÉMENT JODOIN
Clément Jodoin effectue un retour au sein du personnel d’entraîneurs des Canadiens, lui qui a assumé les fonctions
d’entraîneur adjoint de 1997 à 2001 et lors de la saison 2002-2003. Il a complété en 2011-2012 sa première saison
comme entraîneur-chef des Bulldogs de Hamilton, lui qui avait été promu à ce poste le 22 juillet 2011, devenant du
même coup le 10e entraîneur-chef de l’histoire des Bulldogs.
En 2010-2011, Clément Jodoin complétait sa quatrième saison au poste d’entraîneur-chef de l’Océanic de Rimouski,
une 10 e campagne en tant qu’entraîneur dans la LHJMQ. Sous sa férule, l’Océanic a compilé un dossier de 140-112-8-5
en 265 matchs en saison régulière. En 2008, à titre de pilote de l’Océanic, il était sélectionné pour être l’un des entraîneurs
adjoints d’Équipe Canada qui allait être médaillée d’or du Championnat du monde junior en République tchèque. Jodoin
a enlevé deux autres championnats mondiaux des moins de 20 ans dans ce rôle, en 2006 et 2007.
Avant de se joindre à l’Océanic, il a dirigé les MAINEiacs de Lewiston de 2004 à 2007 et lors de sa dernière saison à
la barre de cette concession il se voyait décerner le trophée Brian-Kilrea, remis à l’entraîneur par excellence de la Ligue
canadienne de hockey, après avoir remporté la coupe du Président de la LHJMQ, et mené ses troupes à la coupe Memorial.
En 2007, avec Lewiston, il remportait une deuxième fois le trophée Ron-Lapointe comme entraîneur par excellence de la
LHJMQ. Il a aussi mérité le trophée Paul-Dumont à titre de Personnalité de l’année dans la LHJMQ en 2006.
Né le 10 janvier 1952 à Saint-Césaire, Jodoin a également œuvré comme recruteur avec les Canadiens en 2000-2001
avant d’assumer les fonctions de directeur du développement des joueurs. C’est en 1983-1984 que Jodoin a amorcé sa
carrière d’entraîneur et dès la saison suivante il menait les Patriotes de l’UQTR au championnat de l’Association sportive
universitaire du Québec (1986), puis au championnat de l’Union sportive interuniversitaire canadienne (1987). Après
une saison comme adjoint avec les Penguins de Pittsburgh, en 1987-1988, il revenait à l’UQTR pour deux autres saisons,
remportant le championnat de l’Association sportive universitaire de l’Ontario en 1990. Clément Jodoin a aussi travaillé au
sein de l’organisation des Nordiques de Québec de 1990 à 1994, pilotant les Citadelles de Halifax de 1990 à 1992 avant
de devenir entraîneur adjoint avec les Nordiques de 1992 à 1994. Clément Jodoin et son épouse Louise ont deux filles..

Clément Jodoin is in his second tour of duty as part of the Canadiens coaching staff after assuming the role of
assistant coach from 1997 to 2001 and again in the 2002-03 season. In 2011-12, he completed his first season at the
helm of the Hamilton Bulldogs after being hired to coach the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate team on July 22, 2011, becoming
the 10 th bench boss in Bulldogs history.
In 2010-11, Jodoin concluded his fourth season as head coach of the QMJHL’s Rimouski Oceanic and his 10 th season
as a head coach in the league. During his four-year tenure with Rimouski, the Oceanic posted a 140-112-8-5 record. In
2008, while coaching the Oceanic, Jodoin was selected to be an assistant coach with the Canadian team at the World
Juniors in the Czech Republic and returned home with a gold medal. He had been on gold medal-winning Canadian
teams at the WJHC in 2006 and 2007.
Before joining the Rimouski Oceanic, Jodoin was the head coach of the QMJHL’s Lewiston MAINEiacs from 2004
to 2007. The Canadian Hockey League honoured him with the Brian Kilrea Coach of the Year Award in 2007, as he led
Lewiston to the President’s Cup and a berth in the Memorial Cup. Jodoin has twice been named the QMJHL’s Coach of
the Year, receiving the Ron Lapointe Trophy for the first time in 1997 as head coach / GM of the Halifax Mooseheads,
and again in 2007 with the MAINEiacs. He was also the recipient of the Paul Dumont Trophy in 2005–06 as QMJHL
Personality of the Year.
Born on January 10, 1952, Clément Jodoin was the Canadiens’ director of player development in 2000-01, and also
worked as a scout the following season before returning behind the Canadiens’ bench as an assistant coach in 2002-03.
A native of St-Césaire, Quebec, Jodoin began his coaching career 30 years ago and in 1984-85, he became the head
coach of the UQTR Patriotes of the Canadian Interuniversity Athletic Union. He led his team to the Championship in 1986
and to the CIAU title in 1987. Following a season as an assistant coach with the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins in 1987-88,
he returned to UQTR to coach the Patriotes for two seasons, winning the OUAAC Championship in 1990. Jodoin also
worked with the Québec Nordiques between 1990 and 1994 spending two seasons as head coach of the AHL’s Halifax
Citadels (1990-92) and was an assistant coach with the Québec Nordiques from 1992 to 1994. Clément Jodoin and his
