COUPE STANLEY CUP # 6
Les Canadiens amorcent les séries éliminatoires
de 1946 en bombardant les Black Hawks de 26
buts pour facilement balayer la série en quatre
matchs. Dans le premier match de la finale de la
Coupe Stanley, Maurice Richard inscrit le premier
de ses six buts en prolongation en carrière et le
premier de trois buts en supplémentaire en série
finale. Le Tricolore remporte une série âprement
disputée en cinq matchs, dont trois ont nécessité la
prolongation pour faire un maitre. C’est une sixième
coupe Stanley pour les Canadiens.
The Canadiens opened the 1946 playoffs by
bombarding the Black Hawks with 26 goals in four
games to easily sweep Chicago. In the first game
of the Stanley Cup Final, Maurice Richard tallied
the first of a record six overtime goals in his playoff
career and the first of his record-setting three
career overtime goals in the Final. The Canadiens
won a close and hard-fought series in five games,
with three of the games requiring extra time. The
Canadiens celebrate their 6 th Stanley Cup victory.
