Josip-Josef <strong>Dr</strong> (Krakow, 12.07.1882 – the concentration camp Jasenovac, 1941)<br />

- Son of Salomon Laufer, Jew, married to Emilija, maiden name Mandolfo.<br />

In the request for citizenship submitted in 1918 to Municipal Authority Banja Luka,<br />

said that he married Emilija, maiden Mandolfo from Sarajevo, with whom he has son Richard<br />

and daughter Hilda, that in these countries, "he lives for 35 years, six years is working as a<br />

lawyer, and before that was working as a court clerk". His parents live in Mostar, and a wife’s<br />

parents in Sarajevo. 1256 New request for citizenship he submitted to Municipal Authority in<br />

Banjaluka on April 12th 1919. 1257<br />

At the session of the City Council held in Banjaluka on November 30th 1922, it was<br />

unanimously decided to grant the citizenship to <strong>Dr</strong> Joseph Laufer. 1258<br />

On January 5th 1921 he submitted request for issuance of passport for Germany and<br />

Austria. 1259<br />

On March 2nd 1923 he submitted request for extension of passport for his wife<br />

Emilija Laufer for travelling to Germany and Austria and approval for travelling in<br />

Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Italy, Holland and Belgium. 1260<br />

He was a member of the Supervisory Board of the Bank for Trade and Crafts d.d. in<br />

Banja Luka. 1261<br />

During the First World War in Banja Luka he managed a Lawyer’s Office where as<br />

probationer worked - Max Lauffer. 1262<br />

In 1928 he moved the Lawyer’s Office from Banjaluka to Zagreb. 1263<br />

Killed in 1941 - the Jasenovac concentration camp. A testimony on his liquidation is<br />

recorded in the Report of the State Commission for Investigation of War Crimes of the<br />

occupiers and their assistants from November 15 th 1945. 1264<br />

On January 5th 1921 she submitted a Request for issuance of passport for Germany<br />

and Austria, 1266 and on March 2nd 1923 she submitted the Request for extension of passport<br />

for travelling to Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Italy, Holland and Belgium. 1267<br />

Richard (Mostar 24.3.1907 – ?)<br />

- Son of <strong>Dr</strong> Josip Laufer, a prominent Banjaluka and Zagreb Lawyer, whose family is<br />

originally from Krakov. 1268<br />
