Efraim Franz (Budapest, 13.12.1869–1932)<br />

- married to Rahela Lichtenstein.<br />

They had a son Izahar-Izidor. On March 16, 1908 he registered a National Dishes<br />

Restaurant (aščinica ) and paid 200 krunas tax and he registered the fruit trading 1488 on June<br />

30, 1909. He submitted the Request for Citizenship at the beginning of 1923 in which he<br />

stated that "he came to Banjaluka; got married; his son was born in Banjaluka; he has been<br />

living u Banjaluka over 30 year and he had never moved from Banjaluka". The Decision on<br />

the Citizenship Approval to Franz Lichtenstein 1489 was unanimously adopted at the City<br />

Council Session in Banjaluka, held on July 16, 1923. On April 5, 1930 he was granted the<br />

citizenship at birth. 1490<br />

In a newspaper article it was published that Franc Lichtenstein, the owner the National<br />

Dishes Restaurant located in the Boulevard of Kralja Alexandra, disappeared in a mysterious<br />

way on December 13, 1932. He was a father of two children and he left a letter to his ill wife<br />

in which he stated that "he goes to death wilfully because he cannot continue with his life". A<br />

small amount of money as found in the box opened by the police. As said by closer friends,<br />

Franz Liechtenstein, according to his circumstances was "a little more overdue". Because of a<br />

smaller debt the collection was carried out from his entire movable property. Lichtenstein,<br />

who was a very decent and a very honest citizen all his life, got upset about that situation and<br />

since that time he was saying that he would commit suicide. Most probably, he carried out his<br />

intention and one of the assumptions was that he jumped into the Vrbas. Liechtenstein sent the<br />

letter not only to the family but also to the police. Despite vigorous investigation conducted<br />

by the Police, Liechtenstein Franc was not found either alive or dead. 1491<br />

Rahela (1876 – ?)<br />

- Wife of the Restaurant owner Efraim Franz Lichtenstein domiciled in Banjaluka. 1492<br />

Izahar Izidor (Banjaluka, 2.12.1893 – the Jasenovac concentration camp, 1944)<br />

- Son of Efraim Lichtenstein, the Tailor, a veteran invalid, domiciled in Banjaluka, the<br />

Jew, married to Bukica maiden Baruch from Bihać. They had a son.<br />

After he had finished three grades at the Primary School, he enrolled in the Vocational<br />

School in Banjaluka on September 1, 1906. 1493 In September 1906, at the age of 16, he was<br />

apprenticed to the shop Savo Milošević i sinovi/Savo Milošević and Sons. In September 1909,<br />

he finished his apprenticeship by passing the test for a Craft Assistant. 1494<br />

He submitted the Request for Citizenship at the beginning of 1923 in which he stated<br />

that "he has been living in Banjaluka for 40 years, he got married in Banjaluka, he was born in<br />

Banjaluka where he became a Tailor".<br />

The Decision on the Citizenship Approval to Izahar Lichtenstein was unanimously<br />

adopted at the City Council Session in Banja Luka, held on July 16, 1923. 1495 In accordance<br />

with the Work Permit No. 20.106/1934 as of July 17, 1934, he registered the Tailor’s<br />

Workshop for Men and Women in Car Dušan Square No. 3. The shop was relocated in Hanište<br />

No. 6 on February 14, 1940. He was approved to keep students as assistants on July 1, 1940.<br />
