Leon–Rešad <strong>Dr</strong> (Darda, 20.4.1893 – ?)<br />

- The son of More Rosenzweig and Ernestina Goldschmidt from Batina.<br />

He graduated in Graz on July 14 th 1922 and got the title of the Doctor of Medicine.<br />

As temporary Secondary Doctor, he started to work on June 6th 1924 in the General<br />

Foundation Hospital in Osijek. He worked in this Hospital up to July 15th 1925.<br />

In II Region of Slavonska Orahovica, he started to work as the Doctor under the<br />

Contract of August 3 rd 1928 for the employees of the Administration of the Quarry and the<br />

Fish Farm and for the Forestry Department.<br />

He converted to the Islamic Religion On December 9th 1938 and changed the name in<br />

Rešad. He married to Marija-Stanislava Taras on December 21th 1938 in Slavonska<br />

Orahovica. They had no children.<br />

He was granted the citizenship in Slavonska Orahovica on September 2nd 1940.<br />

He carried out the Private Doctor Practice in Slavonska Orahovica up to July 20 th<br />

1940.<br />

As of January 27th to May 8th 1942 he worked as the Private Doctor in V Unit of<br />

Military Krajina (the border area).<br />

Upon his personal request, after 11 years of private practice in Slavonska Orahovica,<br />

he looked for the job in the Institute for the Control of Endemic Syphilis in Banja Luka.<br />

Upon the decision of the Ministry of Health, Z. Number: 65.078-1942 as of October 10 th , he<br />

was appointed for part time Doctor and was sent to work in the Health Centre Bosanska<br />

Gradiška.<br />

He was appointed for acting Director of the Health Centre in Bosanska Gradiška as of<br />

July 30th 1943 to November 8th 1943. He worked in the Institute for the Control of Endemic<br />

Syphilis in Banjaluka.<br />

He took an oath of loyalty to NDH in Banjaluka on March 21st 1944. 2184<br />
