1900, Banjaluka, daughter of David (it was written in another document that she was the<br />

daughter of Sadik) Poljokan and Rahela maiden Alkalaj (used to live in Sarajevo), the Jewess,<br />

Yugoslavian, unmarried, her last residing place was in Glavna Street, Banjaluka; she was<br />

taken to the Stara Gradiška concentration camp on September 15, 1941, where she was<br />

murdered on September 30, <strong>1941.</strong> It was stated in another document that "she was killed in<br />

September, 1942."<br />

Silvija Alkalaj from Sarajevo submitted the Request for registration into the Death<br />

Certificate for Elza Poljokan. The witnesses in the evidence procedure were <strong>Dr</strong> Samuel Pinto<br />

and <strong>Dr</strong>. Avram Baruh, both from Sarajevo. 2146<br />

On the list of sokol’s (Youth Organisation) for the former Yugoslavia, made by the<br />

Committee of the Ustashe’s Internal Security Service for the Velika Župa (the Great Parish)<br />

Sana and Luka, No. 12/Т–42, Mazalta Poljokan, the Court Official at the District Court, 35<br />

(most likely 35 stands for her age) was registered. 2149<br />

In the Application the deprivation of life or missing persons, submitted in Banjaluka<br />

on September 19, 1945 by <strong>Dr</strong>. Hink Montiljo, the Dentist, Head of the Outpatient Dentist<br />

Department at the Military Hospital in Zagreb, Bauer Street, No. 22; it was stated (Column A)<br />

that Mazalta Nahmijas, maiden Poljokan, age 33, the Clerk of the District Court, resided in<br />

Banjaluka, the Jewess, was a civilian murdered by the Ustashe during the German occupation<br />

in the Stara Gradiška concentration camp in 1942.<br />

Salomon, alias Moni (Banjaluka 16.1.1904 2150 – a concentration camp, Germany, 1943)<br />

- Son of the Tradesman Zadik Poljokan and Ester maiden Poljokan. He was a bachelor.<br />

In 1914, he finished the First Public Primary School for Boys in Banjaluka. 2151<br />

As of 1914, he attended the Realna Gymnasium in Banjaluka and he passed his final<br />

exams on June 11 to June 26, 1924.<br />

At the Faculty of Law in Zagreb on June 27, 1929, he passed the judicial graduate and<br />

judicial strict examination and on December 5, 1931 he passed the State Examination.<br />

In the year of 1931, he was a regular student of a Squadron at the Calvary School for<br />

Reserve Officer in the Yugoslav Kingdom but he was declared temporarily incapable for<br />

military service due to his health problems.<br />

On January 11, 1932 he began to work as the Judicial Clerk at<br />

the County Court in Banjaluka.<br />

The Court of Appeal in Sarajevo sent him to work at the District<br />

Court in Kotor Varoš on July 26, 1934. In the year of 1936 he was<br />

transferred to the County Court in Banjaluka; on January 4, 1937 he<br />
