Because of illegal travel, Samuel and Erna Papo were arrested together with Pepica<br />

Papo. On July 20, 1942 all three of them were detained for ten days. They were in prison on<br />

July 28 and July 29, 1942. 1909<br />

Pepika Papo, daughter of Avram, born in 1895 in Novi Sad, the Jewess, murdered by<br />

the Ustashe in the Jasenovac concentration camp in 1942. 1910<br />

Rifka (Bosanski Petrovac, 1902 – ?)<br />

In the Crna kuća/Black House in Banja Luka, Rifka Papo wife of Joseph, 42 years old,<br />

the Jewess, born in Bosanski Petrovac, residing in Prijedor, the housewife was among the<br />

detained persons. She was imprisoned on June 25, the year of her detention is unknown (most<br />

probably 1942). 1911<br />

In August 1942, the Security Police for Banjaluka and the Velika Župa Sana and Luka<br />

sent to the Head of the Prison Crna Kuća/Black House in Banjaluka the Report that on August<br />

7, 1942 the following Jews, who were handed over by the Germans to the Police, were sent to<br />

the concentration camp: David, Rena and Blanka Kabiljo, Šandor and Rena Erlich; Josip and<br />

Riv(f)ka Papo; Jakob Reich, Sabataj and Luna Levi; Oskar and Ilonka Štern; and Malamed<br />

<strong>Jakov</strong>. 1912<br />

She was registered as the previous owner (co-owner) for a half of the building located<br />

in Veso Masleša Street No. 5 (consisted of the ground floor and the first floor i.e. (1) one oneroom<br />

apartment and (1) one business premise); the half of a building located in Rade Ličina<br />

Street No. 19 (consisted of the ground floor and the first floor i.e. two one-room apartments<br />

and two two-room apartments) and half of the building in Rade Ličina Street No. 17<br />

(consisted of one two-room apartment), according to the Procedure on the Nationalisation for<br />

Buildings and Parts of Buildings described in the Form N-2 on September 25, 1958. 1913<br />

Flora maiden Altarac (Banjaluka, 25.12.1903 – ?)<br />

- Daughter of Izidor and Lenka maiden Nahmijas, wife of Jozef Papo-Papić from<br />

Banjaluka. They got married in Banjaluka, 1938. 1914<br />

In the year of 1946, she initiated the Procedure for Pronouncing the Dead of her<br />

mother - Lenka Altarac maiden Nahmijas, murdered in the Jasenovac concentration camp. 1915<br />

<strong>Jakov</strong> (Sarajevo, 17.2. 1907 – ?)<br />

- Son of Elijazar and Sultana Papo, the Upholsterer.<br />

He worked from April 6, 1927 to April 17, <strong>1941.</strong><br />

He was a military prisoner in the Tešin-Langsdorf prison camp in the period from<br />

April 17, 1941 to June 21, 1945. In the year of 1962, his time spent in the captivity was<br />

recognised as special length of service and it was included in his length of service as a worker<br />

of the National Theatre in Banja Luka.<br />

On December 11, 1960, in Banjaluka, he got married to Marija Cvenarski from<br />

Laminci – Bosanska Gradiška Municipality. 1916<br />
