<strong>Training</strong> <strong>Institutes</strong> <strong>2012</strong><br />

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT<br />

The <strong>2012</strong> <strong>Training</strong> <strong>Institutes</strong> have been approved <strong>for</strong> Continuing Education<br />

Credit by the following organizations. Look <strong>for</strong> the application in your folder<br />

and submit it along with a $35 processing fee payable to Georgetown<br />

University in order to receive a Continuing Education certificate or letter of<br />

attendance. Applications may be submitted at any time during the <strong>Institutes</strong> at<br />

the Registration Booth. Certificates and letters will be mailed following the<br />

<strong>Training</strong> <strong>Institutes</strong>.<br />

PLEASE NOTE: Each participant may only receive Continuing Education<br />

Credits <strong>for</strong> the hours actually spent in the training activity. Your name<br />

badge must be scanned at the conclusion of each session in order to<br />

verify your attendance and determine the number of credits you have earned.<br />

Continuing Education Credits cannot be awarded if your nametag has not been<br />

scanned. Partial credits will not be awarded. Scanning is not required <strong>for</strong><br />

general sessions.<br />

American Psychological Association (APA): The program has been reviewed and approved by the<br />

APA Office Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP) to offer Continuing Education (CE) credit to<br />

psychologists. This program offers a maximum of 36 CE credits. Full attendance is required at each<br />

session <strong>for</strong> which you are claiming CE credit. Partial credit is not awarded. The CEP Office<br />

maintains responsibility <strong>for</strong> the delivery of the program.<br />

<strong>National</strong> Association of Social Workers (NASW): This program is approved by the NASW<br />

(Approval #886386741-1061) <strong>for</strong> up to 36 Social Work continuing education contact hours, including<br />

16 hours of Cross Cultural.<br />

Continuing Medical Education (CME): This activity has been planned and implemented in<br />

accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council <strong>for</strong> Continuing<br />

Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of MedStar Washington Hospital <strong>Center</strong><br />

and the Georgetown University <strong>Center</strong> <strong>for</strong> Child and Human Development. MedStar Washington<br />

Hospital <strong>Center</strong> is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education <strong>for</strong> physicians.<br />

MedStar Washington Hospital <strong>Center</strong> designates this live activity <strong>for</strong> a maximum of 36 AMA PRA<br />

Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their<br />

participation in the activity.<br />

<strong>National</strong> Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC): This program has been approved by the NBCC<br />

(Approval Number: SP-2041) <strong>for</strong> up to 36 hours of Continuing Education Credits.<br />

Letter of Attendance: Attendees who are not psychologists, social workers, counselors, or<br />

physicians and who desire CE credit may apply <strong>for</strong> a letter of attendance verifying participation in<br />

the training and the number of CE credits earned. Participants are responsible <strong>for</strong> submitting this<br />

letter to their respective professional organizations, licensing entities, or employers in order to<br />

receive CE credit.<br />
