Lesson 3: A closer look 2<br />

I. Objectives:<br />

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use<br />

“could” and “will be able to” to express past and<br />

future ability.<br />

Hoạt động 1: Warm up (5 minutes):<br />

Phương án 1: Chơi trò chơi “Bingo”<br />

- Before we start the lesson today, I’d like you to<br />

play ‘Bingo’.<br />

+ Draw this table into your notebook.<br />

+ Write the name of 9 activities which you think a<br />

robot can do into 9 squares of the box.<br />

a. Elicit the model sentences<br />

- Do you remember the conversation between<br />

Dr Alex and the two boys, Nick and Phong?<br />

What does Dr Alex talk about robots in the<br />

future? (They will be able to do many things like<br />

humans.)<br />

- Pay attention to the structure ‘will be able to’.<br />

Do you know what it means and how to use it?<br />

- Study the Remember box, p. 61, Textbook<br />

please.<br />

GV dành thời gian khoảng 2 phút để HS đọc nội<br />

dung ghi nhớ trong SGK. GV đưa giải thích thêm<br />

nếu cần thiết, sau đó đưa ra một số câu hỏi để<br />

chốt lại kiến thức trước khi cho các em làm <strong>bài</strong><br />

luyện <strong>tập</strong>.<br />

+ Listen to me and just call out “Bingo!” only if you<br />

have crossed off 3 squares in a row horizontally,<br />

vertically or diagonally.<br />

+ The first student with a Bingo is the winner.<br />

GV đọc các từ có trong phần từ vựng ở Lesson<br />

1&2 và có thể bổ sung thêm một số từ khác:<br />

understand what someone says, sing a song,<br />

make coffee, run, make the bed, play the football,<br />

walk, guard the house, lift heavy things, dance,<br />

recognize our faces, do the laundry, do the<br />

dishes, speak English.<br />

Phương án 2: Chơi trò chơi “Chain Game”<br />

- Before we start the lesson today, I’d like you to<br />

work in group of 8. Think about the activities you<br />

could/ couldn’t do when you were 5. The first<br />

student begins with ‘When I was 5, I could ride<br />

a bicycle.’<br />

- The next one repeats the previous sentence<br />

and then adds your own sentence.<br />

- Continue until the last student in your group<br />

repeats all the sentences and adds his/ her<br />

sentence.<br />
