หล่อหลอมเกิดเป็นความงามอันเป็นมรดกของชาติ<br />

ครั้งหนึ่งที่มรดกของชาติอย่าง ‘โขน’ ได้ก้าว<br />
ข้ามจากยุครุ่งเรืองถึงขีดสุดในราชสำานัก<br />
มาแล้ว จนกระทั่งเข้าสู่ยุคถดถอย ผู้คนที่<br />
สืบทอดนั้นเริ่มหมดกำาลังวังชาด้วยกลุ่มคนดูที่เริ่ม<br />
น้อยลงทุกที จนกระทั่งสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ<br />
สยามบรมราชกุมารีได้ทรงมีพระราชปรารภต่อ<br />
สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถว่า<br />
โขนนั้นกำาลังเป็นที่เสื่อมนิยมในสังคมไทย<br />
สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถจึง<br />
ทรงรับสั่งว่า “เมื่อไม่มีคนดู ฉันจะดูเอง” เมื่อนั้น<br />
เอง ที่นาฏศิลป์ไทยที่เกือบจะสูญสลายไปกับ<br />
กาลเวลาได้กลับมาอยู่ในใจของผู้คนอีกครั้งในปี<br />
พ.ศ. 2550<br />
The Khon is a Thai national heritage<br />
masked play which at its peak was<br />
celebrated in the royal courts of Siam.<br />
With the passing of time, interest waned.<br />
When Her Royal Highness Princess Maha<br />
Chakri Sirindhorn told Her Majesty Queen<br />
Sirikit that the Khon was disappearing<br />
from Thai culture, The Queen replied,<br />
“If no one is there to watch the Khon,<br />
I will watch it myself.” This brought the<br />
performance to Royal Palace, where a<br />
scene from the Ramayana was performed,<br />
helping to restore the popularity of the<br />
Thai Khon in 2007.
