<strong>PC3000</strong> <strong>Installation</strong> Guide<br />
Cabling and Devices<br />
Usage: For connecting a <strong>PC3000</strong> RS-485 Serial Port to a terminal block assembly as<br />
described above. May be used with Local Controller Module ports A, B or C and<br />
Intelligent Communications Module ports A, B and C only.<br />
May be used for extending cables where the smaller space taken up by the 9 way<br />
terminal blocks may be important.<br />
Pin numbering, function and wire colours are as follows.<br />
LCM/ICM Port Function 9 way D Wire Colour<br />

1 nc Brown<br />
2 nc Orange<br />
3 Tx- 3 Red<br />
4 Tx+ 4 Black<br />
5 Rx- 5 Green<br />

Notes:<br />
(1) The screen is connected to the metal band around the outside of the 8 pin plug<br />
(2) The screen is connected directly to the Rack as a Safety and RFI Ground, via the<br />
module's front earth clip, in Version 3 ICMs and LCM-Plus.<br />
(3) The screen is connected to pin 9 on the 9 pin D connector. This is provided in<br />
order that screen continuity can be maintained if cables are extended.<br />
