This course is designed for students<br />

who have expressed an interest in<br />

an entry level nursing course. This<br />

course meets Title 22 regulations for<br />

and communication. The Nurse<br />

assistant Pre-Certification Training<br />

course consists of a combination of<br />

64 hours classroom instruction and<br />

128 hours supervised clinical practice<br />

in long term facilities. This course<br />

prepares the student to take the state<br />

certification exam to be a certified<br />

nurse assistant (CNA). After obtaining<br />

the state certification, the student<br />

may find employment in the acute<br />

care, long term care or assisted living<br />

settings. This course may be taken<br />

pediatrics and obstetrics. The Certified<br />

Nurse Assistant Acute Care course<br />

consists of a combination of 24 hours<br />

classroom instruction and 48 hours<br />

supervised clinical practice in the acute<br />

care hospital. This course includes<br />

communication, patient assessment,<br />

observation and reporting training<br />

as well as reinforcement of Certified<br />

patient. Additional emphasis on<br />

rehabilitative nursing care, family<br />

relationships and the impact of longterm<br />

illness on the family as well as<br />

the client will be included. The Home<br />

Health Aide training course consists of<br />

a combination of 24 hours classroom<br />

instruction and 48 hours supervised<br />

clinical practice in the Assisted Living<br />

setting. This course meets title 22<br />

regulations for Home Health Aides<br />

terms will also be defined. This is<br />

an entry level course for students<br />

interested in the health care field<br />

and is highly recommended prior to<br />
