This chapter described how the overall MERIT system works, incorporating the<br />

changes outlined in this thesis. The techniques used to verify the behaviour <strong>of</strong><br />

the models adopted and other changes made were also discussed. The<br />

applicability <strong>of</strong> the program will be shown in Chapter 8, through the use <strong>of</strong> a<br />

relevant case study.<br />
