1.2 Objectives of the Survey
The objectives of the SCSPA 2012–2013 were the following:
• describe the ability of health facilities in the country to provide quality health
services in line with guidelines and protocols of the country
• identify gaps in support services, in terms of resources and processes used to provide
services to patients, which may affect the ability of health facilities to provide quality
health services
• describe the level of adherence to quality standards of service of providers of
maternal and child care and reproductive health services
• provide comparisons of results between different types of health facilities and regions
of the country and between facilities managed by different authorities (public or
private)
• describe how much patients understand about what they must do to follow up on the
services received in order to be in better health
