Availability of Vaccines
Table 3.9 describes the availability of vaccines according to the type of facility, the
managing authority, and the region. This availability was assessed only in the facilities that
store vaccines.
Among the facilities that offer childhood immunization services and routinely store
vaccines, health centers have the greatest availability of vaccines. Indeed, 93 percent of them
have all the basic childhood vaccines (DPT/pentavalent, oral polio vaccine, measles vaccine,
and BCG vaccine). By comparison, only 84 percent and 69 percent of hospitals and health
posts, respectively, have these basic vaccines.
Table 3.9 Availability of vaccines
Among facilities that offer child vaccination services and routinely store vaccines at the facility, the percentages having
unexpired indicated vaccines observed on the day of the survey by background characteristics, Senegal SCSPA 2012–
