The facility provides the following services for the prevention of HIV transmission from an infected pregnant woman to her child: HIV counseling and screening<br />

test for pregnant women, screening test for children born to HIV-positive mothers, ARV prophylactic treatment for HIV-positive pregnant women, ART<br />

prophylactic treatment for children born to mothers with HIV, counseling for HIV-positive pregnant women on newborn and breastfeeding infants, nutritional<br />

counseling for HIV-positive pregnant women and their children, and FP counseling for HIV-positive pregnant women.<br />

HIV screening testing for pregnant women is available in 99 percent of facilities<br />

offering ANC services and any PMCTC service, while HIV screening tests for children born<br />

to HIV-positive mothers is only available in 8 percent of facilities.<br />

ARV prophylaxis for pregnant women and children born to HIV-positive mothers is<br />

offered more often in health centers than in hospitals.<br />
