3. Determinative composite is an Izafetic construction, the first
component of which is the modifier, and the second – the modified.
Analogous constructions are typical of the Indo-European languages and
their existence in Central Asia Arabic should be ascribed to the linguistic
contact with the Tajik language.
Examples: wai áaÔariyya bÝi iúbozÝr mad. laÔam mib×Ô iúzÝka gÁl:
farasak wenu? “In the morning bey went to market. The vendor of meat
asked him: Where is your horse?”
hamsÝyta iúnorbÝn mib×Ô ÓawÁb mÁ nãa
“The neighbour did not answer the seller of ladders”
mÝratna iúxonai kalÝn kÁnaw
4. As a result of the influence of the Uzbek language the - În/×n suffix
was developed in the QAD which expresses the superlative degree and
fulfils the function of a connective formant between the modifier and the
modified: adem×n Õas×s “a stingy man”, bayt ×n kb×r “a big house”
In Uzbek энг expresses the superlative degree. cf. энг улуf “the
biggest”.În/×n in the QAD serves merely as a connective in the
construction N+ În/×n +adj: It should be noted that Turkish en
corresponding to Uzbek энг carries the analogous function in the Adana
and the Mersin Arabic dialects of Southern Turkey.
5. Extence of the constructions such as Pronpers+N+Pronsuf must be
ascribed to the influence of Turkish. In a syntagma of this type the
personal pronoun precedes the noun which takes a pronominal suffix: anÁ
hawliÝi «my farmhouse», ana ÔÝÖãi “my house”, inta waladak “your boy”;
zÝka iÔmor “his donkey”.
