Generell informasjon
The Bible ¿ with the Old and New Testaments ¿ has a pivotal role in all Christian theology, and especially in Protestant theology. The
present course aims to give a thorough historical and theological introduction to the books of the New Testament.

Studiekrav
The student is to
- hand in a weekly reading report for at least 75 percent of the weeks
- hand in a weekly reader¿s questions report for at least 75 percent of the weeks
- give an evaluation of the course and the teaching if the course is up for evaluation the semester in question.
Vurdering
To gain credits for the course the student has to pass all the course works/¬assignments, and then sit for a written examination (4
hours). Finally, the grade of the course will be given on the basis of the reports (weighing 1/3) and the examination (weighing 2/3).
Mål og innhold
The students are expected to:
- know the history of textual transmission and translation of the New Testament
- know the contents of the writings of the New Testament
- know historical-critical analysis of New Testament literature
- know theological themes in the writings of the Old Testament
- have good knowledge about John¿s Gospel, its content, literary style and theology.
