Generell informasjon
The early Christians faced many challenges in their relationship to the Graeco-Roman environment in which they lived. Chaps. 8-10
emphasize questions of idolatry and idol meat. According to chaps. 11-14 the early Christians gathered in private homes.
Studiekrav
- one book report of approximately 1000 words
- 4 hours written examination
Vurdering
The grade of the course will be given on the basis of the written examination.
Mål og innhold
The students are expected to:
- have thorough knowledge of First Corinthians, introductory questions and its theological message
- have the necessary skills to interpret the texts on the basis of the Greek text.
- be able to see the text as a response to religious and ethical pluralism in Paul¿s time and today
Students might apply for replacing some of the texts (not more than 1/3), provided there is an equivalence in terms of level and quantity
of the assigned curriculum.
