Perspectives will be drawn from religious studies, development studies, international relations and the study of civilsociety and faith-based organisations. Both the role of religion in development and more specifically the role of religion in developmentaid will be addressed. The course will enable the students to better understand the role of religion in so-called developing countries andin international development cooperation.Students who are not enrolled in the Master Programme Religion, Society and Global Issues, should have equivalent academicbackground.StudiepoengreduksjonThis course is (in an adjusted form) also an elective bachelor course, SAM2540. Students who have completed SAM2540 as part oftheir bachelor degree, may not include SAM5146 as part of their master degree.StudiekravTo complete the course, the student has to:- Participate in a writing course. Participation includes presenting a first draft of the exam essay, and to comment on the presentationsof fellow students.- Participate in the evaluation of the curriculum and/or of the learning environment, if such evaluation is stipulated in the relevant term.Avsluttende vurderingIn order to pass SAM5146 the student must fulfil all the requirements and write an essay (4000-4400 words).
