It aims at presenting students with issues related to Christology inthe contemporary discourse with postmodern thinking.StudiepoengreduksjonNo reduction in combination with other courses at MF.StudiekravStudents are required to take active part in discussions during class, and to write an essay of 4000 words on a topic chosen with theprofessor's consent.Avsluttende vurderingIn addition to an assessment of the essay, there is an oral exam on the essay and on other parts of the curriculum to adjust thepreliminary grade. Grades A-F are used.Mål og innholdHow can postmodern thinking provide means for re-opening some of the classical interpretations of the ministy, preaching, passion anddeath of Jesus Christ? The task of this elective is to look into this question, and to provide students with an understanding of thepotentials of postmodern thought for contmporary theological thinking, while at the same time also providing chances for looking intopresent discussions on Christology. Hence, the elevctive will provide a good oportunity to work on christological issues as well asdevelop an understanding of some of the relevant issues for theology present in postmodern thought. After completing the course, thestudent should have- Good knowledge of postmodern approaches to Christology- Knowledge of different and alternative interpretations of the death of Jesus- insights into criticisms made against some of the clasical interpretations of Christ's death as sacrifice, as presented by R.
