Karakteren (A-F) settes på grunnlag av prøven.MålA. JUSTICE AND ALLIED VIRTUES (5 stp)Part A covers three thematic areas: (a) Justice as one of the cardinal virtues and how other virtues are connected to it, (b) Thecorrespondence of justice to the different relations within human society, (c) The concrete engagement of the Catholic Church forjustice in the human society.The virtue of justice is one of the four cardinal virtues, and it regulates both the human relationship with God and the interpersonalrelationships in the human community. In other words, it is primarily concerned with "otherness", with the fact that human beings are notalone in the world, but relate to other human beings, and ultimately also to God. Classically it is understood as the constant will torender to each what pertains to him or her.This course will study the virtue of justice in this theological and societal light. St. Thomas Aquinas has laid the foundation for thepresent Catholic understanding of the virtue of justice, and thus the treatment of this in the Summa theologiae will form the foundationof the course. However, also other and more recent approaches will be examined. By "allied virtues", is meant those moral virtues thatlead to and are connected to the cardinal virtue in such a way that they work towards the same goal. The allied virtues of justice arethus devotion, piety, truthfulness, obedience, gratitude, friendliness and others.After completed course, the students should be able to demonstrate the following:- good knowledge of the Catholic theological understanding of the cardinal virtue of justice,- knowledge of the three different kinds of justice that correspond to the three basic relations that form the structure of life within humansociety; commutative justice (the relation of one individual to another), general or legal justice (the relation between the individualperson and the social whole), and distributive justice (the relation between the social whole and the individual person),- knowledge of what is meant by the virtues allied to justice, and in what way these work together with justice towards the same goal,- insight into the engagement of the Catholic Church for creating a world that is ruled by justice.B. DYDENE TRO, HÅP OG KJÆRLIGHET (5 STP)Sentralt i det kristne liv står det å leve i tro, håp og kjærlighet. Delemne B drøfter mulighetene for å leve ut disse tre teologale dydene ivåre dager, og utfordringer dette medfører. Det tar også for seg hvordan det å leve ut disse dydene forstås som menneskets måte åvende tilbake til Gud på. Delemnet reflekterer derfor også over den antropologiske dimensjonen ved menneskets svar på Guds nåde,og forståelsen av mennesket som Guds vilje.Studenten skal etter fullført delemne ha- kunnskap om hva som menes med begrepene teologale dyder, inngytte dyder og moralske dyder- kjennskap til ulike forståelser av begrepene tro, håp og kjærlighet- kunnskap om hvordan de tre teologale dydene danner kjernen i den kristen eksistens- god kunnskap om det dynamiske aspektet ved de tre teologale dydene- kunnskap om den antropologiske dimensjonen ved tro, håp og kjærlighet- kunnskap om hvordan katolsk teologi forstår mennesket som Guds bildeMerknad til litteraturlistenKompendium med diverse utdrag fra kirkefedrene gjøres tilgjengelig som ressurs i Fronter.Litteratur
