Novos Olhares

The Castellum of Alcabideque is another attestation
of historical preservation of the municipality of
Condeixa-a-Nova, which is characterized as a
collection tower, next to a collector tank and that
in the past served essentially to capture and raise
the water for its subsequent transport, through the
aqueduct. There is also a legend about this, which
involves a shepherdess’s peripetia and that since that
day, it has become a region abundant with water,
making Alcabideque synonymous with “eyes of water”
and “God’s water”.
