The final stretch of the Serra da Boa Viagem, between the beaches of Murtinheira and Figueira da Foz, the Mondego cape is the only cliff point on the central Portuguese coast. It is a portly stretch of limestone rock that extends into the sea. In order to protect and assist the vessels passing around it, the Cabo Mondego lighthouse stands out as a major architectural work that makes the perfect combination of land and water. 61
