A Alta da Cidade é a parte mais antiga de Coimbra,
feita de ruas estreitas e íngremes que conduzem ao
topo da colina onde nasceu e a que os estudantes
deram vida. Nestes caminhos carregados com
uma enorme carga cultural e própria da cidade, é
possível sentir a verdadeira alma que ao longo dos
anos acabou por caracterizar a forte personalidade
de Coimbra. Do comércio à habitação, estas ruas
transportam em si a personalidade da grande parte
dos moradores que compõem o município.

The Alta da Cidade is the oldest part of Coimbra,
made of narrow and steep streets that lead to the
top of the hill where it was born and to which the
students gave life. In these streets, loaded with the
city’s own enormous cultural charge, it is possible
to feel the true soul that over the years has come to
characterise Coimbra’s strong personality. From
commerce to housing, these streets carry the
personality of most of the residents that make up the
city.
