It was in this territory that monks settled who took care, over several centuries, of a precious asset - the Mata Nacional do Bussaco - which today stands as a unique forest formation in Portugal and worldwide, and whose application for World Heritage (UNESCO) has already been submitted. The Forest of Buçaco, possible to visit through its Great Route of 56 Km, dazzles for its landscapes, for its waters of excellence and for the good air that is breathed here, that in times moved the sails of its group of mills. 167
