The municipality of Cantanhede has an extraordinary natural heritage, among dune areas, streams, river beaches, with high environmental and ecological potential, supporting its own species and habitats, agricultural and fishing activities, as well as leisure and well-being activities. From the rich existing natural heritage, we can also highlight the lagoons, namely the Teixoeiros, with a natural environment mostly forest, and where it is possible to observe various species of fauna and flora. 37
São poucos os lugares no concelho de Cantanhede que não se aviste uma capela, uma igreja, alminhas, calvários ou cruzeiros, marcas evidentes da devoção ao sagrado da região. O património religioso é, indubitavelmente, uma das vertentes mais imponentes e simbólicas do património edificado do município, nomeadamente edifícios de interesse arquitetónico e igrejas que conservam estatuária religiosa e ornamentos de cantaria de elevado valor artístico. 38 There are few places in the Cantanhede municipality where you cannot see a chapel, a church, shrines, calvary or crosses, evident marks of devotion to the sacred in the region.
