I. DESTRUCTION OF CZECH DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS.<br />

1. Abolition <strong>of</strong> Autonomy.<br />

a) After Munich.<br />

The Agreement <strong>of</strong> Munich, an economic and strategic deathblow<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Republic, meant politically its submission under <strong>the</strong> will<br />

and intentions <strong>of</strong> Germany. (see Part 111).<br />

Germany forced <strong>the</strong> Czechoslovak Government to bring Czecho-<br />

slovakia's foreign and home policy into line with <strong>the</strong> policy <strong>of</strong><br />

Nazi Germany. Step by step <strong>the</strong> prerogatives <strong>of</strong> an independent<br />

State were abolished, and <strong>the</strong> Republic was in fact governed by
