espectively. The <strong>stator</strong> q <strong>an</strong>d d axis currents are qs2<br />

No-load <strong>an</strong>d short-circuit tests are used to measure the parameters <strong>of</strong> a 2 hp <strong>dual</strong><br />

<strong>stator</strong> <strong>winding</strong> <strong>induction</strong> machine with the 2-pole <strong>an</strong>d 6-pole <strong>winding</strong> sets. The<br />

magnetizing induct<strong>an</strong>ces <strong>of</strong> the two <strong>winding</strong> sets as a function <strong>of</strong> the magnetizing air-gap<br />

flux linkage are shown in Figure 8.2. Since the numbers <strong>of</strong> poles for both <strong>winding</strong> sets<br />

are different, the saturation characteristics <strong>of</strong> the <strong>winding</strong>s are different <strong>an</strong>d are not<br />

necessarily in phase.<br />
