22. The synchronizing dial housing) a phosphor bronze<br />
casting, contains elements for the support and enclosure <strong>of</strong><br />
the synchronizing dial mechanism. It provides for inspection<br />
covers and a bezel and .Ls attached to the station housing support.<br />

,23. The pointer's station housing cap) a steel casting,<br />
en~loses telescope elevation bracket, sight deflection gear~<br />
ing,and sight elevation gearing. The cap is fastened to the<br />
pointer's station housing and has provision for the elevation<br />

25. The p o i n t er ' e station housing support is a steel<br />
casting which func tions to support the pointer's station housing,<br />
the synchronizing dial housing, and the gun elevation<br />
order transmitter. It provides an· inspection cover and encloses<br />
the clutch, gun elevation order shaft bearings, elevation<br />
order transmitter gears, and synchronizing dial gears.<br />
TRAINER'SSTATION<br />
26. The trainer's station is shown on general arrangement<br />
drawings number 231154, 231155, 231157, 231168, for the<br />
right hand station and drawings number 231168, 231169, 231171,<br />
and 232424 for the left hand station. The components <strong>of</strong> the<br />
trainer's station are the following parts and subassemblies:<br />
telescope holder, elevation bracket, deflection pinion and<br />
sector, sight deflection wormwheel, sight elevation arc, sight<br />
deflection worm, sight elevation worm, compensating differential<br />
and spur gear train, handwheel and order shaft gearing, housing<br />
cap, housing, housing support, pedestal, and shaft guard. A<br />
description <strong>of</strong> these components is cDntained in the following<br />
paragraphs.<br />
