It may also be noted that Harrison Spring
is located at a point where Blue River makes
an extreme eastward updip deviation. This
would appear to be an advantageous position
for capturing of drainage from a large portion
of the Mitchell Plateau. The Sinks of Indian
Creek contribute a significant fraction of the
flow at Harrison Spring. The extreme eastward
deviation of Blue River also shortens the
distance and maximizes the gradient related to
piracy of Indian Creek drainage. The capture of
Indian Creek drainage via the Sinks of Indian
Creek occurs where the two river systems are
near their closest point.
