but if the Copy <strong>of</strong> the Charter do not Serve the Grand Lodge we farther Resolve<br />

that if the Grand Lodge is pleased to Cause the Grand Clerk to make out a new<br />

Charter <strong>of</strong> the Same date Tenor and Signature <strong>of</strong> the Copy and Send it to us fuly<br />

Compleate we will pay the Expences Attending the making it out and the<br />

moment that it comes to hand we will send <strong>of</strong>f to the Grand Lodge the one<br />

which we hold. At the Same time order the Secretary to make out a Copy <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Minute and send it along with the Charter.<br />

5 March 1800<br />

…It was stated to the Meeting that the Depute Master had been in Edinburgh<br />

and had Conversed with our Proxy Master and understood that our Business<br />

would be brought on before the Grand Lodges first Quarterly Communication<br />

being the first Monday <strong>of</strong> May the Lodge being well Aware that desperate<br />

attempts would be made Against us in Consideration <strong>of</strong> which they Considered<br />

on the propriety <strong>of</strong> Sending one <strong>of</strong> the Brethren to Edinburgh first meeting to<br />

attest the Representatives there anent the <strong>St</strong>atement <strong>of</strong> facts And answering <strong>of</strong><br />

Questions that might be put in order to Clear what ever dubious doubts might<br />

Remain. The Lodge was <strong>of</strong> opinion that it would be highly proper that A<br />

General Meeting Should be summoned against next Monthly Meeting for that<br />

purpose.<br />

April 1800<br />

…the Master in the Chair he Informed the Meeting that it would be highly<br />

proper that A petition Should be Sent to the Most Worshipful the Grand Lodge<br />

<strong>of</strong> Scotland praying that they would put a <strong>St</strong>op to the present Dispute which still<br />

Continues to Rage in Maybole Lodge No. 14 and at the Same time it would be<br />

proper for the Information <strong>of</strong> the Most Worshipful the Grand Lodge that A<br />

Brother Should be Sent there first Quarterly Communication So that Every<br />

Information in our power Shall be given to the End that this disagreeable matter<br />

might be brought to A Conclusion which was agreed to.<br />

16 April 1800<br />

…the Depute Master in the Chair he Informed the Meeting that he had it in<br />

Command from the Right Worshipful Master to Inform them that he had Got A<br />

Letter from the Right Worshipful the Grand Clerk <strong>of</strong> the Grand Lodge <strong>of</strong><br />

Scotland Inclosing Information to the Lord Lewtenant <strong>of</strong> Air Shire by Quintin<br />

McAdam in Turnberry Also A Copy <strong>of</strong> the Minute <strong>of</strong> the <strong>St</strong>anding Committee<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Grand Lodge in Consequence <strong>of</strong> Said Information which Minute ordained<br />

us to Lodge Answers thereunto with in Ten days from the date there<strong>of</strong> which the<br />

Right Worshipful had sent <strong>of</strong> Inclosed to the Grand Lodge. And also to send<br />

two <strong>of</strong> the Members <strong>of</strong> the Lodge to Attend the Grand Lodge upon the 24 th <strong>of</strong><br />

April Currant in order to Answer what Ever Questions the Grand Lodge might<br />

think proper to put the whole <strong>of</strong> the Papers from the Grand Clerk was produced<br />

and read. Accordingly it was moved that Two Brothers should be Appointed to<br />
