darkness sprang in space the re-awakened energies.<br />

twice seven, the sum total. And these are the<br />

Flames, the Essences, the Builders, the Force,<br />

In the Egyptian representation there are seven<br />

Souls <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> these<br />

life-forces recognized in nature. Six<br />

were pre-human — elementary forces or<br />

powers born <strong>of</strong> the Primary Great Mother, when<br />

there was yet no human soul distinguished from the<br />

six that were souls, such as light or air, earth or<br />

water, and animal or vegetable life. <strong>The</strong> seventh<br />

Soul was human. This was the Soul <strong>of</strong> Blood,<br />

brought forth by a goddess in the human likeness.<br />
