Moon, and Stars, but I say it was not so. <strong>The</strong>se<br />

were symbols either representing the Deity or some<br />

<strong>of</strong> His attributes, which the Druids perfectly under-<br />

stood, but which the learned men <strong>of</strong> the present<br />

day do not, and have taken the shadow for the<br />

substance and mixed them up, which will not help<br />

to understand the Wisdom <strong>of</strong> Ancient Egypt, or<br />

give any knowledge or meaning <strong>of</strong> all you find<br />

<strong>of</strong> the peoples <strong>of</strong> past ages.<br />

Many would wish to know how these have<br />

been handed on from the time they came into<br />

existence up to the time you found them used in<br />

your Lodges. <strong>The</strong> answer to this, fully set forth,<br />

with the pro<strong>of</strong>s, would fill a big volume ; I will,<br />

however, try and explain in a few words so that<br />

you will be able to think out the details as I<br />

have done.<br />

To commence with, all the sacred Signs and<br />

Symbols first used by these old Mystery Teachers<br />

in their Stellar Cult were brought on into their<br />

Lunar and Solar Cults, and from the Solar Escha-<br />

tology, the earliest Christians, the Copts, adopted<br />

them. Some <strong>of</strong> the original forms have been<br />

slightly changed, others were discarded by<br />

the later<br />

Christians ; examples <strong>of</strong> this you can find in many<br />

old churches here in England ; one in particular,<br />

Launceston Church, in Cornwall,<br />

is rich in the<br />

early emblems which were worked here in stone<br />

and built in by the old Druidical Priests, who
