conceptions and beliefs, as it gives the key to<br />

unlock the mysteries <strong>of</strong> the past. <strong>The</strong> Sphinx was<br />

cut out <strong>of</strong> the solid rock as an Ideographic Symbol<br />

to represent the passage <strong>of</strong> Horus from one<br />

Horizon to the other— symbolical, therefore, <strong>of</strong><br />

Horus <strong>of</strong> the Double Horizon or Double Equinox,<br />

an early Solar Symbol and not Stellar. Thus these<br />

Signs and Symbols, with their true interpretation,<br />

will assist us to understand their true import, from<br />

the time they originally came into being down to<br />

the present, and why<br />

our old Brothers used them<br />

as representative Sacred Signs and Symbols in<br />

their Sign Language.<br />

In the form <strong>of</strong> the Axe, from the Stellar it was<br />

brought on in the Solar Cult as one <strong>of</strong> the Symbols<br />

to represent the Great God Ptah ; the Great<br />

Architect <strong>of</strong> the Universe was one <strong>of</strong> his names,<br />

but he was also called the Great Chief <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Hammer (see Ritual <strong>of</strong> Ancient Egypt). Figs. 76,<br />

7 J, and 78 represent<br />

the God <strong>of</strong> the Axe in<br />

three forms. Fig. 76 represents Ramman, the<br />

God <strong>of</strong> the Axe <strong>of</strong> the Susians. <strong>The</strong> horns here<br />

signify Solar Descent. <strong>The</strong> hair and features are<br />

those <strong>of</strong> " <strong>The</strong> Suk " <strong>of</strong> Africa. <strong>The</strong> Axe denotes<br />

that he is " <strong>The</strong> God <strong>of</strong> the Axe," " <strong>The</strong> Cleaver<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Way "— i.e. the Egyptian Horus <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Double Horizon or Double Equinox. <strong>The</strong> Three<br />

Rods or Rays <strong>of</strong> Light denote his name as that
