form had been given up. <strong>The</strong>y placed a<br />

treble cube in the centre to mark the division<br />

between Heaven and Earth. On the top <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Cube was a circle <strong>of</strong> gold, within this the Sacred<br />

Triangle, with Ideographic Symbols at each corner,<br />

signifying the names <strong>of</strong> the Primary Trinity, or<br />

the Three Grand Originals, which all Royal Arch<br />

Masons will recognize (see Fig. 64). This<br />

double square end to end is the true form <strong>of</strong> our<br />

Lodges, and the above is the reason why we have<br />

them in this form, and also the reason why the<br />

R.A.M.'s have the Cube in the centre and why<br />

the Irish Masons still have " the Cube " in the<br />

Centre <strong>of</strong> their Lodge. Originally these two<br />

degrees were one.<br />

One <strong>of</strong> the most interesting Symbols is the<br />

Circle with a point in the centre (Fig. 65). For<br />

the original <strong>of</strong> this we must return to the old wise<br />

Brothers <strong>of</strong> Egypt ; the Mystery<br />

Teachers <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Stellar Cult, although it was afterwards brought on<br />

in the Solar, who had worked out the whole <strong>of</strong><br />

these Astronomical observations. It was previously
