these are expressed in words, does not alter the<br />

meaning, ideas, or beliefs ; these are only altered<br />

and misunderstood by men who cannot read and<br />

understand "<strong>The</strong> Writings on the Walls"; and<br />

as regards dates, few, I believe, now would even<br />

think or believe that man has only existed about<br />

six thousand years, as assumed from Biblical<br />

tradition, when we find the skeletons <strong>of</strong> the present<br />

type <strong>of</strong> man in strata <strong>of</strong> the Pliocene age, six<br />

hundred thousand years old at least. 1 <strong>The</strong>refore<br />

whatever Cult our Brothers may have belief in,<br />

the knowledge <strong>of</strong> the evolution <strong>of</strong> the human race<br />

would only be a greater factor to strengthen their<br />

belief. If we take the Chinese, and there are<br />

many Brothers amongst them, we know that they<br />

went out from Egypt during the Stellar Cult, and<br />

they have never risen in evolution since. <strong>The</strong><br />

Hindu left at the time <strong>of</strong> the Solar Cult ; he has<br />

always remained the same. <strong>The</strong> white race,<br />

generally, left at the end <strong>of</strong> the Solar. <strong>The</strong> early<br />

Copts were the first <strong>of</strong> the Christians in evolution,<br />

and the white man has gradually developed into a<br />

higher type <strong>of</strong> the human. With this development<br />

into a higher type <strong>of</strong> man, so his spiritual ideas have<br />

developed into a so-called higher type <strong>of</strong> Christianity<br />

than that which we find at the commence-<br />

ment <strong>of</strong> the time <strong>of</strong> the early Copts. Yet it<br />
